Battle Snails - Devlog #2
The Demo is Coming
We’re heads down.
The team is hard at work building the Battle Snails demo, and we’re targeting the next Steam Fest to get it into your hands.
The demo will include three maps. The Backyard, our classic starting arena. The Snow Map, which remains one of our favorites. And a brand new one called The Alleyway.
The snail tank is in. You get to bring your snail into battle from day one.
The Alleyway is the beginning of something bigger.
We’ve got a whole story for Battle Snails. A world with key locations, each one with its own personality and purpose. The Alleyway is the first chapter in that story.
The plan is to build these locations out one by one. And eventually, they come together in a cooperative mode. 1 to 4 players. A shared mission. You and your friends, battling through the world we’ve been building.
That’s the big dream. The demo is step one.
Here’s what we’re working toward: a full co-op campaign where every location you’ve fought through in multiplayer becomes part of something larger. The Backyard, The Snow Map, The Alleyway — these aren’t just arenas. They’re chapters. Each one will have objectives, enemies, and moments designed specifically for you and your crew to take on together. Think of it like a board game box that says “1 to 4 players.” Solo if you want. Chaotic with friends if you’ve got them. The whole world, playable your way.
We’re building toward that. It’s going to take time. But we know where we’re going.
Small Team. Finding the Fun.
We work small. A tiny team, building in short cycles, playing what we make, and asking one question over and over: is this fun yet?
Sometimes the answer is no. We change something. We play it again. We keep going until the answer is yes.
The Alleyway started as a rough sketch and a hunch. Tighter spaces. New angles. A different kind of chaos. We’ve been pushing snails around it for weeks and we’re genuinely excited about what it adds.
That’s how we find the fun. We don’t plan it all upfront. We build, we play, and we follow the feeling.
One more thing. We went premium.
When Battle Snails launches, you buy it once. That’s it. No subscriptions. No paywalls. And as we build out new locations and roll out the cooperative mode over time, those updates come to you automatically.
Buy it once. Get everything we build.
We’re excited to battle again. Wishlist Battle Snails on Steam and we’ll see you at Steam Fest.

why bother using ai to write this man. you've been fine just writing a paragraph for your posts before, you don't have to artificially extend it for no reason. let us know how you actually feel or there's no point interacting with us except to sell.
